Unmatch is a puzzler on iOS where you need to move hexagons around so there are no matches between them. These matches occur when sides of the same colors are adjacent, so you swap them around until no hexagon is matched with any other. The game adds a few more mechanics over its long level list, but the core idea always remain the same. I've completed it - although not perfecting every level - and I really enjoyed it!
The core of the game is deceptively simple; you just swap hexagons around until there are no matches, but the complexity the game adds makes this concept more and more convoluted. More colors, impassable walls where you can't swap things through, hexagons with differently colored sides, hexagons with multiple colors, hexagons that rotate after you swap them. These are the main tricks of the game. While the levels introducing new mechanics are often fun and intuitive, after a while you just swap stuff randomly and hope for the best, and sometimes it even works and then you need to figure out what's the optimal way to get there.
On the technical side, it has happened to me a few times that I've swapped pieces by accident - or tried to swap specific ones, only for it to fail. There is no undo button, so you have to restart if you make a mistake. The game allows you to skip any puzzle as well, but I think it does that a bit too aggressively, maybe too soon. There isn't much to talk about for such a simple puzzle game, but it's really good! If you like relaxing iOS puzzles, you should try Unmatch.
