This is a bad game. If you ignore the core, the mechanics around it are encrusted with layers upon layers of systems, resources, microtransactions and other purchases, unlockable content and levels, things that need to be added carefully to not spoil the broth. But then, if you look at the main game, this just adds insult to injury, as the core gameplay is clunky, unbalanced and not fun.
After an interminable succession of game updates, I was told that I had low memory and that I should close all background applications, which I did. But still, if you're making a mobile game, you should be ready to deal with these things by yourself and not ask the user to shut down other background apps in order to save precious megs of ram. Then I went through a tutorial where all I did was hold right and the shoot button. My character was quite overpowered for this section so I mowed down everything in a few shots, often before they had even appeared into view, still off-screen.
But then, when I started the real game, I could still hold shoot and move and that would be enough to kill everything. I went through a few boring levels with interminable loading and clunky controls where nothing of precision could be accomplished, and then fell into menus where I could spend one of three currencies to buy new gear and upgrade it and buy premium currencies to unlock new classes and other things of the sort. But why would I want to do that? I didn't have fun playing the game!
Maybe if it had been more fast paced and focused more on cool gameplay - and feeling like a badass space mureen - rather than pitting me against laughable challenges and then flooding me with store pages and currencies, maybe I would've played W40kC a bit more, but no, nothing of the sort.
